On Thursday, June 4, the NFTA hosted a special event to celebrate Pride Month and honor the LGBTQ+ community. The gathering began with a dedication to diversity and inclusion, featuring remarks from our Executive Director, Kim Minkel; General Counsel, Vicky-Marie Brunette; and NFTA Pride Committee Chair and TAPD Officer, Marissa Mauro. A highlight of the event was the raising of the Pride Flag and the unveiling of our newly designed Pride Bus, serving as a powerful reminder of the significance of representation and our commitment to fostering welcoming public spaces for all.

The striking design of the new Pride Bus, created by our talented graphic designer Sean Fitzpatrick, thoughtfully incorporates mosaic elements that represent individuals while also collectively symbolizing the greater community.

The Pride Bus will make its first road debut at the Pride parade on Sunday, June 7, alongside staff from across the Authority. After the parade, it will travel throughout Erie and Niagara counties, embodying unity, acceptance, and pride in Western New York.
