BHA Helen And Kelly NFTA
Kelly Khatib with NFTA's Director of Public Affairs, Helen Tederous

Congratulations to NFTA's Public Information Officer, Kelly Khatib, the proud recipient of a 2024 Black Achiever Award. The 52nd Black Achiever's Awards ceremony was held on Saturday, September 28, at the Buffalo Convention Center in downtown Buffalo, and over 1,000 attendees attended. This annual event recognizes African Americans' talents, inspiration, and quality achievements within the WNY community.

Kelly was honored for her many professional accomplishments, a recognition that we all share and celebrate. Her role in managing external relations with media, local government officials, and community partners has been instrumental in the NFTA's success.

Kelly joined the NFTA in 2022, bringing with her a background in broadcast journalism and news reporting. She has been a driving force behind major NFTA campaigns, including Black History, MetGo, and recruitment initiatives, as well as supporting crisis communications during two WNY historic snow storms. We are deeply grateful for Kelly's contributions and unwavering dedication to the NFTA's mission and service to our community.

Congratulations Kelly on your well-deserved recognition!
