Km Eb Ribbon
Evans Bank Pres. & CEO David Nasca and NFTA's Exec. Dir. Kim Minkel cut ribbon

On a brisk yet excitement-filled Friday morning in downtown Buffalo, leaders from Evans Bancorp and the NFTA, in conjunction with civic and government officials cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Evans Bank Station@Lafayette Square.  Earlier this year, Evans Bancorp purchased the naming rights for the NFTA’s Lafayette Square above-ground Metro Rail station. Located steps away from the bank’s Business & Relationship Center at Main & Court Streets, the new station promotes the bank’s presence in downtown Buffalo.

“We wanted to make a big brand statement downtown due to the proximity to our financial center and we couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome,” said David J. Nasca, Evans Bank President & CEO.  “At Evans, we believe strongly in public/private partnerships and this is an investment that will benefit the entire community by allowing the public to enjoy an updated and beautifully vibrant station in a highly trafficked downtown corridor.”

In addition to the new station now beautifully colored in “Evans” orange, the company’s logo is now prominently displayed on top of the station, as well as on ticketing machines. Additional branding will appear on station shelter signs and maps, internal digital and audio message boards, online and digital schedules and in three rail cars.

"This new partnership is yet another great example of Evans Bank’s commitment to the Western New York Community,” said Sister Denise Roche, Chair, NFTA Board of Commissioners. “We are most appreciative because this provides us with a creative source of revenue and helps us continue to maximize public transportation and better connect our community.”

The initial term of the agreement is for five years with an option to renew for an additional five-year term.
