Open Enrollment
Open enrollment for the flexible spending account program will begin November 4, 2019.  This is your opportunity to enroll in this program for calendar year 2020.  The Section 125 Flexible Spending Program allows you to set aside a portion of your pay (up to specified limits) for the payment of healthcare expenses and/or dependent care expenses on a tax-free basis.

In order to participate in the plan(s), you must enroll by completing the Nova Flexible Spending Account Enrollment for during the period of November 4 through December 6, 2019. 

Health-Related Account
  • Current maximum contribution: $2,750 (includes $50 increase for 2020) 
  • Period of coverage January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020
  • Health Spending Account can be used for: Office visits co-payments, coinsurance, deductibles, vision care, dental care (non-cosmetic), and prescription drugs
Dependent Care Account
  • Current maximum contribution: $5,000
  • Period of coverage from January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020
  • Dependent Care Account can be used for: Before and after school programs, nursery, preschool, in-home programs, summer day camp (not overnight camp), and adult daycare
The FSA is subject to the use it or lost it rule.  Any unused balance at the end of the calendar year (with exception of $100 for health-related accounts) will be lost.  Claims can be submitted up to 90 days into the new calendar year for previous year expenses. Re-enrollment each calendar year is required in order to continue the benefit.
