On Sunday, August 18, nearly 200 runners and walkers participated in the 2nd annual Calspan Run the Runway 5K at Niagara Falls International Airport. The race took place over the runway and taxiways of the airport, which is shared with the US military.  This is a unique venue for the event as most of this space is never open to the public.   

Run the Runway was coordinated by Eclipse Multi-Sport, a local race management company. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Niagara Aerospace Museum, which is adjacent to NFIA.  Among the finishers, Nate Adams won the male division, while Stephanie Bowman took the female honors.  The NFTA was represented by Dave State, Bruce Izard, Vicky Celenza, Don Butcher, Mike Moore (who also took a medal), Mark and Allison Shepard (Kim Minkel's husband and daughter). 

Bob Stone, Doug Hartmayer, Helen Tederous, TAPD Captian Chris Chiodo, and ARFF's Chief Bill Major were also on hand to help keep things running smoothly.  We will see you all next year!
