The NFTA is reviving its Parks Adventure Bus program for 2026, offering free transportation to parks and outdoor destinations in Western New York during the summer and fall.

Running on select Saturdays from June through December, the service will provide access to various state and county parks from downtown Buffalo. Riders can board at the Metropolitan Transportation Center at 181 Ellicott Street and enjoy free travel, with park admission also free for participants.

The program starts June 20 with trips to Sprague Brook County Park, followed by stops at Beaver Island State Park (June 27), Chestnut Ridge Park (July 11), Evangola State Park (July 18), Emery County Park (July 25), Reinstein Woods (Aug. 1), Akron Falls Park (Aug. 8), and Fort Niagara State Park (Aug. 15). Additional seasonal trips are planned for Reinstein Woods Fall Fest (Sept. 19), Como Lake Park Fall Fest (Sept. 26), and Chestnut Ridge Park Santa Land (Dec. 12).

The program, which has received positive feedback, aims to help those without access to transportation participate in outdoor recreation. For more details on schedules and guidelines, visit the NFTA website: metro.nfta.com/getting-around/special-services/parks-adventure-bus.
