The tall ships are almost here for the Basil Port of Call in Buffalo. The event will provide a spectacular fleet of 12 tall ships. The home flagship, The Spirit of Buffalo, will be operating out of her normal berth in Canalside’s commercial slip. She is a 73-foot steel topsail schooner, that carries up to 42 passengers, and has graced the Buffalo waterfront since 2009.
The Port of Call will be held Thursday, July 4, through Sunday, July 7. The weekend will be filled with live entertainment, historical exhibits, food and beverages, and much more. To check out the ships, a POCB passport is required, but be sure to get a head start and take a look at the vessels here.
Also, make the trek down to the event easy, park for free at LaSalle or University Stations and ride Metro Rail down to Canalside.
