Thank you to all of our hardworking Metro operators and staff for doing such a wonderful job in transporting over 120,000 people around downtown Buffalo over the 4th of July weekend. With the 12-ship Basil Port of Call in full swing, parking was at a premium and several streets around Canalside and the Erie Basin Marina were closed. It was important for visitors coming to see the ships and fireworks to find alternative transportation to travel to and from the waterfront.
Metro Rail operators certainly stepped up to the plate with extra service and dedicated drivers. With many of our rail cars at full capacity all day, every day, there was a lot to look out for. Our drivers were focused, considerate, and calm while getting riders where they needed to go. What a great job by the entire Metro team!
