On May 6, Douglas Goss encountered a young boy who approached his bus and asked if it was going to Southside Elementary. The boy appeared confused and lost on his first solo bus ride. Douglas encouraged him to board the bus so he could help him figure things out and take him where he needed to go.  

When they arrived at the school, the principal rushed outside, clearly concerned. The principal explained that the boy’s grandmother had called to report him missing and that Doug was an "Angel" for finding him. While Doug considers his actions simply the right thing to do, many others regard him as a true hero.
