April is Autism Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder (ASD), educate the public, and advocate for the needs of individuals with autism.
This month, various events and initiatives are held nationwide to promote understanding and acceptance of autism, highlight the challenges and strengths of people with ASD, and provide resources and support to families and individuals.
In recognition of Autism Awareness Month, we are highlighting the NFTA's participation in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program. This program helps individuals with hidden disabilities, such as autism, mental health conditions, learning difficulties, or chronic illnesses, to navigate public spaces, travel, and other situations with more ease and understanding.
