It was a great morning at Cold Spring Station. The NFTA unveiled the amazing winning artwork from its Black History Month contest.  The artwork was created by Tyshaun Tyson and features a stunning depiction of Black inventor Garrett Morgan, holding his invention, the traffic signal, with red, yellow, and green lights beaming through a dark sky. 

Tyson’s work will grace the sides of three buses with the opportunity to be seen by thousands of people and continue to expand the growth of NFTA-Metro’s public art experiences.

This initiative was led by Crystal Edwards and the NFTA’s African American Committee. During the month, the NFTA has also been saluting vibrant Black legacies and employees throughout the authority.
