Earlier this week, the Buffalo Fire Department toured the NFTA's DL&W station with our safety and rail team members. The tour gave firefighters a firsthand look at the facility and helped them better understand the newest transit station's unique features.

Fire Department platoons toured the entire DL&W station and site, including the station platform, stairways, elevators, access points, surrounding exterior areas, and all essential parts of the facility. This walkthrough gave firefighters the opportunities to become more familiar with the station's layout and discuss key safety considerations, including emergency access, response strategies, and evacuation routes.

Attendees were particularly impressed by the new facility and the remarkable transformation of the historic DL&W complex, as well as the design features that support emergency operations and public safety.
