The NFTA is partnering with community organizations and law enforcement, including our TAPD, to promote C.O.P.S.S. (Children Overcoming Police Stereotypes Through Sports), a free youth basketball camp that fosters positive relationships between young people and police through teamwork and mentorship.
Participants will learn from Toronto Raptors guard Jamal Shead, who will lead basketball instruction and share his experiences. The camp will also feature Buffalo Police Officer Moe Badger and community officers engaging with youth throughout the day.
The event aims to create meaningful interactions between children and law enforcement while encouraging healthy lifestyles and teamwork. In addition to basketball activities, all participants will receive lunch from Cusimano’s Pizzeria. The camp is open to area youth, but registration is required. Families can register online at C.O.P.P.S. Basketball Camp until July 3rd.
