The NFTA integrates sustainable practices that incorporate economic, environmental, and social considerations into our operations and long-term strategies. These practices include implementing electric vehicle charging stations at our airports, transitioning some of our Metro fleet to electric buses, and collaborating on sustainability plans with various agencies. We also focus on economic development, promoting transit-oriented development, and consistently encouraging sustainable transportation options.
As we celebrate Earth Week (April 21-25), we invite you to join us in highlighting some of our sustainable initiatives and practices, including the following:
April 21: NFTA's Wetlands Treatment System
April 22 (Earth Day): Help Keep Our Metro System Clean
April 23: Planning For A Greener Future
April 24: Metro Transit Expansion Project
April 25 (Arbor Day*): Go Green And Ride the Electric Bus.
* Arbor Day in the United States is an annual "going-green" celebration that focuses on tree planting and care, typically held on the last Friday in April. It's a national holiday that encourages individuals and communities to participate in activities such as planting trees, educating the public about the importance of trees, and attending tree-related events.
