NFTA’s Hispanic Heritage Committee Members

As Buffalo gets ready for its 22nd Puerto Rican and Hispanic Parade and Festival, August 17-18, representatives from the City of Buffalo and Hispanic Heritage Council of WNY held a flag raising ceremony in front of City Hall on Thursday, August 8.

The upcoming weekend celebration honors the achievements and contributions of the Puerto Rican and Hispanic communities. The Grand Marshal of the event is Luis Rodriguez Sr., owner of La Ultima Hora, one of Buffalo’s Latino newspapers. After the parade makes its way down Niagara Street to Porter Ave., participants will celebrate in Niagara Square. The festival features concerts, food, vendors, and a Kid’s Zone with a bounce house, arts and crafts, and face painting.

Over 75 team members representing the NFTA will be walking in the parade next Saturday along with our Metro Bus, PAL Van, and TAPD vehicles. We will also have our community bus on display at the festival. If you are interested in participating in the parade, it's not too late. Contact Maria.Logan@nfta.com. It's going to be a lot of fun!
