Gregory MacFarlane, ARFF Team Member

Gregory MacFarlane is the newest member of the Buffalo Airport Firefighting Team (ARFF).  He is a graduate of the 87th NYS Recruit Firefighter Training Program at the Office of Fire Prevention and Control's Academy of Fire Science in Montour Falls. Mr. McFarlane recently completed the training along with 36 other recruits from across the state.

During the 15-week program, all 37 recruits participated in more than 600 hours of training in both classroom and practical settings. The program focused on areas such as structural, vehicle, and flammable liquid firefighting, emergency vehicle operations, hazardous material incidents, basic rescue operations, and daily physical fitness training.

Upon completion, graduates received certification from the National Board of Fire Service Professional Qualifications in Firefighter 1 and 2, Fire and Life Safety Education 1, and Hazardous Materials Operations.

Please join in congratulating Mr. McFarlane, who is now an official member of our ARFF Team under the direction of Chief William Major.
