Lancelot (Lance) Melin has officially joined the NFTA as our Traffic Coordinator and Content Creator within the Public Affairs Team. The NFTA has been providing traffic and transit updates on Channel 2 since 2012. Lance has been working for the NFTA and on-air since 2018, and has been the regular Daybreak traffic reporter since March 2025.

Lance has always had a passion for media, spanning radio, television, and social platforms. At the age of 7, he hosted his own “radio show" on cassettes, taking on the roles of both host and guest. He also wrote and filmed his own movies with a camcorder he had to save up for, eventually leading him to pursue TV news through high school and college stations. He has met many amazing colleagues and friends during his time at the NFTA, and he feels grateful to be a part of such a talented and supportive environment.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Media Production from Buffalo State University and an Associate's Degree in  Communication Arts from Erie Community College. He is also currently planning a wedding for the winter of 2026 and is looking forward to married life.

When you see him, please take a moment to congratulate Lance on his new role. He primarily works out of the OCC.
