This photo takes us back to the early days of the Metropolitan Transportation Center.  Construction for this project began in March of 1975 and was completed in June of 1977. 

The groundbreaking and the completion of the MTC were both recognized with ceremonies to mark these milestones in the history of transportation in Buffalo. The pre-opening event included the raising of the American Flag, the playing of the Star Spangled Banner, a plaque unveiling, and the signing of formal documents.
