Dave Rugg Retirement Dinner 2
Celebration at Chef's Restaurant

Thursday night Dave Rugg’s team and other NFTA staff helped celebrate Dave’s 27+ years at the NFTA before he says goodbye and moves on to his next adventure.

Dave shares heartfelt words upon his departure:

"There have been many hillocks, or hurdles along the way, (Jeff would say drumlins), but that’s what keeps it interesting . . . A good friend of mine, now passed, went by the handle, “Next Hill”.  He always wanted to see what was over the next hill.  I challenge you all, if in your work you find a hillock, hurdle, or drumlin, find a way over, around, or sometimes through it!  Run the race as if to win.  Work by the Scriptural principles: 'A workman is worthy of their hire' and 'To whom much is given, much is required.' Don’t settle, don’t succumb to a culture of 'it doesn’t matter, that’s how we’ve always done it.' You’ll find it rewarding!

Now it’s time for me to see what’s over the next hill.  It is time to help raise four (maybe more) grandchildren; to kayak on water; to bike on trails; to observe from tree stands; to enjoy family. I wish you all the best.

P.S. Remember, Cold Spring is like the book of Revelation, there is no “s” at the end."

Today is Dave's last workday at Cold Spring. We all wish Dave the best in his retirement from everyone at the NFTA!
