We are pleased to announce the appointment of David Zarbo as the new Deputy Police Chief of the NFTA's Transit Authority Police Department, effective June 2025. Deputy Chief Zarbo brings 32 years of law enforcement experience, including leadership roles in community policing, investigations, and department training. 

David began his career at the NFTA as a TAPD Officer and was later promoted to Detective and then Senior Investigator. During his tenure, he also served as President of the Police Benevolent Association (PBA) for four consecutive two-year terms. He has significant experience as a hostage negotiator and is actively involved in crisis intervention and management. His commitment to serving our community is also reflected in his work as a liaison for those experiencing homelessness and his strong support for behavioral health initiatives. Additionally, he has been recognized for leading various charitable drives in partnership with organizations such as Matt Urban and Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNY.
