We are pleased to announce the appointment of David Zarbo as the new Deputy Police Chief of the NFTA's Transit Authority Police Department, effective June 2025. Deputy Chief Zarbo brings 32 years of law enforcement experience, including leadership roles in community policing, investigations, and department training. 

David began his career as a TAPD Officer and was promoted to roles of Detective and Senior Investigator. He also served four consecutive terms as President of the Police Benevolent Association (PBA). David is an experienced hostage negotiator and a member of both the Crisis Intervention Team and the Human Trafficking Task Force. Additionally, he serves as a liaison for individuals experiencing homelessness and is a strong advocate for behavioral health. Throughout his career, he has been recognized for leading various charitable initiatives in partnership with organizations such as Matt Urban and Big Brothers Big Sisters of WNY.
