Mayor Brown, in conjunction with members of the Buffalo Common Council raised the Disability Pride Flag on Wednesday, July 24, in Niagara Square.

Holly Nidell from our EEO Department participated in the event, and it was a very exciting day. In addition to raising the flag, the City also announced the creation of its first Disability Advisory Committee, which will be comprised of representatives and advocates with a diverse range of abilities. Together, this committee will work to advise the city of Buffalo on policies and procedures that will assist people with disabilities to full enjoy all of the benefits and opportunities available as citizens of Buffalo.

The group also provided a reminder that the Disability Pride Festival will be held at Pierce Lawn, Canalside, on Friday, July 28 from 2-6 p.m.
