This tragic event at Tops Supermarket on Jefferson has devastated our community. Child and Family Services, EAP is preparing to make all counselors available for immediate, one-on-one crisis support for any EAP member in need. Crisis support is vital to managing the stress response and mitigate the short and long-term impact of trauma. We have created a specific webpage outlining the response for you to explore and share with all members.

Special Response to the Mass Shooting in Buffalo | Child & Family Services (cfsbny.org)

We acknowledge that this tragedy will affect everyone differently, and we hope that you will find this information easy to access and to share. These resources are available 24 hours a day and will be updated regularly. There are two ways for members to access crisis support this week:

  1. Telephonic Crisis Support - available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, by calling our main line at 716-681-4300.
  2. Virtual Confidential One-on-One Crisis Counseling Appointments – schedule a meeting with a counselor over Zoom.  During this confidential appointment you will be meeting one-on-one with an EAP counselor. You will be able to talk about your personal stress response, your concern for others and discuss tools to minimize the traumatic impact. You will have the opportunity to gather information and make follow-up sessions if you choose. Click here to schedule.

In addition to the above, members may call or complete our on-line intake form at any time, requesting any of the available services.  Click here to complete an online intake form.
