These are exciting times as we near the final stages of implementation for our new fare system -- MetGo.

Metro buses have new fareboxes and installation of the new fare gate fencing in Metro’s underground stations has begun.

The first station to receive the fencing is Allen Street and the process will continue by station through to University.  The underground fencing is expected to be completed within 8 weeks. Once installed, the fare gates will remain shrink-wrapped until the next phase of the project.

Faregates will remain open through summer 2022.  We will transition to the new fare system in late summer 2022.
