An event was held at Metro’s Allen Station on Tuesday where Senator Kennedy in conjunction with our Executive Director Kim Minkel and other community leaders announced a substantial increase in State Operating Assistance for the NFTA through the 2022-23 state budget, bringing STOA to record levels for the agency.

It was also announced that funding will be allocated for a new study to examine opportunities for Paratransit expansion within WNY along with the costs associated with implementing these changes locally and statewide. 

—Help identify the number of individuals qualifying for paratransit services and further evaluate curb-to-curb and door-to-door services.

—Address flexible pickup or drop-off windows, short notice services, peak hour feeder services and other aspects of the NFTA's paratransit program.
