On February 24, Babcock Operator Rikki Lanier heard an announcement from our Metro bus control team, Eric Wilkes and Jose Galarza, indicating a 17-year old female with a history of mental illness was reported missing by local law enforcement.  

Mr. Lanier immediately called bus control and informed them that a girl fitting the description had just exited his bus in the Hamburg area. Our TAPD and the Buffalo Police were contacted, and the girl was found. She appeared to have signs of hypothermia and was taken to the hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

The Buffalo Police indicated that quick and coordinated actions of Operator Lanier and Metro's bus control team likely saved the girl's life.
