Buffalo Public School students shine in the Global Scholars Program with a little help from NFTA's James Morrell.
This year Global Scholars students have been investigating the impacts of consumption. They have researched how our city makes choices and delivers resources, such as in the areas of transportation, electrical grid, public health, and ecosystems.
While looking at Buffalo and other city systems, these students have identified public transit as a key factor in Buffalo's accessibility and sustainability. To help students obtain more insightful information, James was interviewed (see below) on his transit system expertise, and the information was presented to students via Nearpod lessons.
In the interview, James discussed NFTA sustainability and accessibility and helped students enable their creative energy for their projects. Four classes in Buffalo were chosen as exemplars by the Global Cities team in New York City. These projects will be used as model projects globally and will be highlighted on social media.
Congratulation to everyone involved!
