May is National Bike Month! Starting NEXT TUESDAY, NFTA is participating in GOBike’s 2026 Bike Month Battle, May 5-June 1, and we need all hands on deck! The weather is turning beautiful, the leaves are arriving, and there's no better time to reconnect with our communities on foot, on bikes, or on public transit.

You can find everything you need here, including a tutorial on submitting points, traffic safety educational videos, and everything else going on for Bike Month, presented by Independent Health!

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

We suggest using Strava or Google Maps to track your mileage, but if you prefer another method, go right ahead. You can turn it on when you begin a walk, bike ride, or transit ride. Just remember to turn it off when you're done to stay accurate.

Participants must use THIS FORM to track their previous week’s mileage each Tuesday by 10:00 AM to make it count.

Any outdoor activity counts! Walking the dog. Commuting to work. Going for a jog. Taking the bus to the store. Friday night joy rides on your bike with your best friends! 😊

POINTS SYSTEM:

3 points per mile on public transit

2 points per mile walking/running/rollerblading/skateboarding/rolling in a wheelchair/etc.

1 point per mile on bike

WHAT DO YOU WIN?

How's 20 tickets to SkyRide (Presented by Independent Health) on Sunday, July 19, and 10 tickets to SkyRide VIP Party on Thursday, July 16?

AND…. A custom trophy!

AND… Bragging rights. Improved health and happiness. Improved productivity from employees who actively commute to work.

Let’s do this thing!
