The NFTA is participating in the NYS DEC’s Get There Green! Campaign running from September 21-28.

Everyone at the NFTA is encouraged to join and use more sustainable transportation modes during that week. When commuting to work, running errands, or heading out for the weekend, try using greener methods.

Instead of driving alone, participants are encouraged to:

• Take Metro Bus or Rail
• Walk or bike
• Carpool or combine trips to reduce driving

How can you take part?

Get ready the week before with our Smart Cycling & Friendly driver training at the MTC on Wednesday, September 17, and Get There Green Office hour on September 18, both starting at 12 pm.  Email Ashley Smith for more information on these informative events.

Then, from September 21-28, join in by making at least one green trip.

1. Choose a green option – bike, bus, carpool, and/or walk. 
2. Log your trip with this link, fill out a physical form at an NFTA location, or email (emma.hoffritz@nfta.com) with trip details.
3. Share your story or photo with us elements@nfta.com so we can celebrate your efforts!

We’ll be tracking participation and offering recognition for employees and departments who go the extra mile to get there green.  Greener travel often saves money and reduces stress. Small actions, when added up, make a big difference.
