The NFTA welcomes three new officers into the Transit Authority Police Department. Allow us to introduce each of them to you below: 

Officer Steven Browning graduated from SUNY Buffalo State with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice. He worked in law enforcement with the Chesterfield Police Department in Virginia but returned to New York to care for his grandmother. Officer Browning was last employed as a Law Enforcement and Security teacher at the Orleans-Niagara BOCES. 

Officer Travell Scales is also an alumnus of SUNY Buffalo State and graduated with a Masters in Social Work. Officer Scales has a passion for working with youth and was a student counselor at the University at Buffalo and SUNY Oswego, as well as with the Buffalo Urban League. 

Officer Gerald Cathcart is a graduate of the University at Buffalo with a Bachelors in History. Officer Cathcart previously worked as a public safety assistant at ECMC and as a security guard with U.S. Security Associates Inc. 

A swearing-in ceremony was held on January 28 led by TAPD Chief George Gast.  Welcome and congratulations team!
