Dear NFTA Employee-

First and foremost, I want to recognize all of you for your incredible work and dedication to our mission and the people we serve.  For the past 16 months, you have delivered like never before.  You transported essential workers and provided essential services that kept our region moving forward. It was an incredibly stressful time in our history, but you did so with courage, tenacity and a level of professionalism that makes me incredibly proud to be part of this organization.  Please know that this hard work did not go unnoticed and I appreciate each of you and your efforts during this difficult time.

Sadly, we also mourn those who lost their life or suffered health challenges and offer our condolences and continuing support to those who are grieving and struggling with the aftermaths of the pandemic. I am grateful that many of us have remained healthy during this time and continue to exercise safe practices. We are also grateful to the public we serve, elected officials, and other stakeholders, who have supported our mission realizing the importance of the work that all of you do in supporting our community.

As we near the end of this pandemic, I want to extend my appreciation to the dedicated, hard-working and overall exceptional team at the NFTA by providing each of you with one pandemic appreciation leave day. This will be in the form of one additional 8 hour floating holiday to be used within this fiscal year.

I encourage you to use this time to reflect upon the past 16 months, to mourn those who were deeply afflicted by the effects of the pandemic but also to celebrate the best in human spirit that you help delivered to so many who struggled. You made a difference and thank you for all that you do.

Stay safe,

Kim Minkel
NFTA Executive Director
