All-
Yesterday, an armed man shattered numerous lives in our community. I am deeply saddened, troubled, and outraged by the events that occurred yesterday afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, the first responders, and the entire community during this very difficult time.
This tragic event was a hate crime that targeted people simply because of the color of their skin. They were innocent people who were merely shopping and providing for their families. There is no tolerance for racism at the NFTA. We denounce these acts and the hate it spreads in our world. We are a community of good neighbors and we all need to support each other. We need to make certain that our love and goodness are louder than this hatred and chaos in our world.
I want to thank our many associates who provided tremendous support and assistance during this tragic event. Please know that we will do everything in our power to ensure your safety and security as you dedicate your time to provide tremendous service to our community.
As we try to process this unspeakable action in the coming days, please know that we have employee assistance available for all employees and your families. The 24/7 Support Line is 716-681-4300. We will find ways to come together during this moment of uncertainty, with love and support for each other and our community.
Yours in love and support,
Kim Minkel, Executive Director
