The NFTA Metro customer service and outreach team participated in the 7th Annual University United Festival June 11 -12.

The University United Festival was created in 2014 when Council Member Rasheed N.C. Wyatt took office in the Buffalo Common Council representing the University District. Residents of this district believed that the community deserved a local festival - a festival that would take place in their own backyard so they wouldn't have to take a bus or drive to a different part of the city to enjoy live music. A festival that would also be free to attend so that residents could bring their families without having to worry about the cost of admission.

The main goals of the festival are to bring the community together and provide resources. The University United Festival Committee wants everyone in the University District, from University Heights to Shoshone to Bailey, to come together as a community, build connections with others in the district and enjoy entertainment, delicious food, and family-friendly activities.

The festival also gives residents the chance to build stronger connections by interacting with Block Clubs and community-owned businesses from Buffalo. The University District Community Development Association (a non-profit organization), Council Member Rasheed N.C. Wyatt and the University United Festival Committee are proud of the University United Festival and want to continue the tradition for years to come.
