As we progress with Metro's Transit Expansion Project, we are excited to share some updates:

• The NFTA, in cooperation with the FTA, is in the environmental review process for extending rapid transit service along the Buffalo-Amherst-Tonawanda corridor, through UB, and ending at the I-990.
• The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was released for public comment on July 25, which initiated a 45-day public comment period that ended on September 8.
• The FTA anticipates releasing the Final EIS/Record of Decision by the end of 2025 or early 2026.
• 15% of the project's design plans were submitted in April 2025, with an additional 30% expected to advance through 2026.
