The Niagara County Department of Health (NCDOH) introduced it's new mobile RV to the Core Advisory Group (CAG) this week. The RV is the county's new mobile healthcare vehicle.  It is ADA-compliant, wheelchair accessible and will provide essential healthcare services to vulnerable populations in Niagara County.

NFTA's Patricia Wiseman and Holly Nidell are members of the Niagara County CAG, which supports the development and implementation of these types of community services. The Post Katrina Emergency Management Reform Act (PKEMRA) of 2006 specifically charged FEMA to focus on needs of people with disabilities, where states and local governments were required to create a Core Advisory Group. CAG members not only provide insight and recommendations about the community of people with disabilities but can also immediately access a wide range of disability resources in real time.

In some instances, selected CAG members activate simultaneously with Emergency Support Functions when the state Emergency Operations Center is activated, and those members serve as disability advisors to the total Emergency Operations Center Staff. Our objective as a CAG is Disability Inclusion and Universal Accessibility before, during, and after disasters.
