The NFTA announced that it has teamed up with special services provider, "AIRA" (Artificial Intelligence Remote Access) to make traveling at the Buffalo and Niagara airports easier and safer for the blind and visually impaired. Aria connects travelers with professional agents who can provide assistance navigating the terminal, checking flight status, identifying luggage and other pre- and post-flight tasks. The technology, essentially connects glasses to an agent, through a phone camera, who is trained to help those who have vision troubles. Aria will help also relieve on-site staff from some duties, making them more readily available for other services.
