Our Executive Director, Kim Minkel, has indicated that effective through May 12, 2020 all NFTA employees shall wear a face covering at all times while they are in direct contact with customers or any other member of the public. This requirement is a directive by the NYS Governor’s office (see order) and is required for employees of all essential businesses or entities, which includes the NFTA.

Face coverings shall be provided by the Authority and will be available to all affected employees in one of two forms – either a washable cloth face mask, or a 3-ply disposable face mask. The intent of this mandate is to slow and prevent the spread of Covid-19.

The requirement to wear the face coverings during the above listed circumstances may be enforced by local law enforcement and/or local government pursuant to Public Health Law.
