NFTA's Jim Lavelle and Lyle Death guide participants
On August 21, the NFTA held its annual ADA track bed training at Metro Rail's University Station.   This annual event is a collaborative effort from several departments coordinated by the EEO Department.  Participants included individuals with disabilities from the Olmsted Center for Sight in Buffalo.

Some of the topics covered included navigation of the overall station, track bed, platform, and rail cars.   There was instruction on the location and use of elevator pace panels, ticket machines, emergency systems, Braille signage, tactile strips, and more.   The training hosted an estimated 20 individuals and proved to be a great success.  We even received a beautiful thank note from the Olmsted team.
