The NFTA teamed up with the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club on Tuesday, August 15, for a special event at NFIA prior to the Run the Runway 5K (Aug. 26).

Children from the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club had the chance to run a race with a run organizer, Dan Horan from Eclipse MultiSport, and explore our state-of-the-art terminal while getting ready for the Kids Fun Run on the 26th. After the race, each of the children received a medal of honor, and they certainly deserved it. 

"The Niagara Falls Boys & Girls Club was excited to bring our kids out for an additional day at the airport," said Rebecca Vincheski, CEO.  "It's a great opportunity for them to get familiar with the airport and staff before the big race."

Registration for the Runway 5K is open. Participants can sign up online at runsignup.com.  The inaugural race attracted approximately 400 individuals, who had the rare opportunity to walk and run a 5K on a course that provided vistas of the airfield and terminal. 

Free parking will be available in airport lots but participants are encouraged to carpool.  The Niagara Falls Airport is located at 2023 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, N.Y.
