A press conference was held at Metro's Utica Station to announce the NFTA's new campaign encouraging passengers of the Metro Rail to “Ride Nice.”

The goal is to take proactive measures to ensure riders feel safe with an overarching campaign that ties in the NFTA code of conduct with informational changes to Metro Rail.

With increased Transit Police presence, along with coordination from Senator Tim Kennedy, the Buffalo Board of Education, and Buffalo Peacemakers, the NFTA will work with the community to put forth a positive message and create a comfortable environment for all passengers.

“My number one priority is keeping our riders and community safe,” said Kim Minkel, executive director NFTA. “We are doing everything in our power to enhance the rider experience with a focus on safety and security.”
