On Wednesday, May 14, NFTA-Metro team members were presented with the American Planning Association's 2025 Outstanding Planning Award for Public Outreach on the Bailey Avenue Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Project.  

We are most grateful to Senator Schumer for working so diligently to secure and protect the federal funding which will make this historic and transformational project possible. The NFTA is focusing its efforts on the next steps in the process, and we continue to advance this initiative. The Bailey Bus Rapid Transit project will provide significant civic enhancements that will improve multiple neighborhoods in Buffalo, boost economic development, reduce traffic congestion, and cut travel times for thousands of riders.

Congratulations to all of this year's winners. We appreciate the support as we continue to spread the word about the many benefits BRT can bring to Buffalo. 

Our next BRT outreach event is on June 11, from 3 to 6 p.m., at E. Delavan and Bailey Avenue.
