We are excited to launch the NFTA food drive in partnership with FeedMore WNY.  The COVID-19 health crisis has greatly increased the need for food assistance in Western New York. As many as one in six people in FeedMore WNY’s four-county service area may struggle with hunger due to the pandemic.   This year, putting food on the table is a struggle more than ever for many families and especially as we go into the holiday season.

The goal is to collect as many canned goods and non-perishables as possible through December 23.  If you would like to help, you can provide a contactless donation through YouGiveGoods.com/drive-nfta

Items may also be dropped off in the internal donation BINS located at business units throughout NFTA Metro properties.

The public is also welcome to donate at the following locations:

  • NFTA Downtown Bus Station, 181 Ellicott Street (enter at N. Division St., 14203)
  • Buffalo Airport Fire House, 120 Amherst Villa Rd. (off Wherle Dr., 14225)
  • FeedMore WNY, 91 Holt St. (14206)

Prior to the pandemic, FeedMore WNY served as many as 135,000 individuals in any given month. Since COVID-19 hit WNY in March, thousands more people have been reaching out for food assistance. See Spectrum story.

COVID-19 protocols are in place to ensure that safety remains the top priority throughout the campaign.

Feel free to share this article, the flyer below, and/or the link on your social media pages or through email.  The more participation, the more people we can help.

The NFTA will provide the collected items to the FeedMore WNY for the holidays.
