Pi Day 2026 Kim M And Crew
NFTA's Exec. Dir, Kim Minkel, with Charlie Dewey, Ron Giza, Max Thayer, and Rema, our UW Rep

Today, the NFTA hosted a lively pie-throwing event at the MTC in support of United Way Buffalo and Erie County, an organization dedicated to improving lives and creating lasting community change.

In celebration of Pi Day (3/14), team members across the Authority spent the past week voting for the NFTA representatives they most wanted to see get "pied." We are excited to share that the event successfully raised an impressive $2,857 for United Way.

The top candidates who ended up with pies in their faces were Charles Dewey, Max Thayer, and Ron Giza, each inspiring spirited support as they took their turns.

Kim Minkel expressed her gratitude in a lighthearted way, saying, "Thank you to everyone who helped make our United Way Pi Day fundraiser such a success. I would especially like to thank Charlie, Max, and Ron for their contributions and for saving me from the pie throwing. I appreciate each of you!"

The event was a great way to celebrate Pi Day, cheer on our good-natured colleagues, and support a great cause. You can see highlights here: NFTA Pi Day.
