TAPD Chief George Gast and Dir. of Public Transit, Tom George, presented Frontier Operator Carla Smith with a certificate of appreciation for her heroic efforts in helping a distraught child along her route.  Carla was working the 3 Grant and spotted the 10-year old boy, Nicholas, at Skillen and Military.  He was loaded with multiple backpacks and appeared very upset.  She stopped her vehicle and asked him if he was okay, to which he proceeded to tell her that he was running away from home.  She contacted the appropriate authorities and kept him calm while they waited for help.  Operator Smith was recognized for her quick-thinking and thoughtfulness.
