Jacob Lanning, who is a member of People, Inc., a Paratransit Rider, a Special Olympian, and a local artist, shared his inspiring journey of resilience and creativity with members of the NFTA on Wednesday. He presented us with an original painting, a testament to his gratitude for Metro's Paratransit services and the exceptional care he receives from our PAL Customer Service Team and Drivers.
The painting was conceptualized as a tribute to the beloved Chequita Smith and evolved into a beautiful celebration of how much Metro means to him. The artwork intricately captures the essence of Metro Bus and Rail, featuring Metro vehicles, punch cards, and other highlights painted to glow in the dark.
Jacob dedicated over 35 hours of his heart and soul into creating this 3' x 5' artwork. He was overjoyed to present it to our Executive Director, Kim Minkel, and Special Services and Systems Manager, Patricia Wiseman, on behalf of the NFTA. He also had the opportunity to personally connect with many of his favorite PAL drivers, expressing his heartfelt appreciation for all that they do.
We have included our video that includes special moments from the presentation: Jacob_Lanning_Painting.
