Metro operations staff got together this past weekend to assemble 2,300 mini flags to provide to attendees at the Puerto Rican and Hispanic parade and festival which will be held August 17-18 at LaSalle Park.
Over 40 members of NFTA Metro will be marching in the parade on Saturday alongside our "floats," a decorated Metro trolley and paratransit vehicle. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize Frontier Operator Mike Mercado for all of his hard work in coordinating the operators and staff that will be in the parade. He will also be leading the group by driving the main bus that day.
Metro will have a customer engagement display in the park too that will include vehicles, staff, and giveaways. There will also be a shuttle available for parade attendees (see attached).
It's supposed to be a beautiful weekend, if you have time stop out and see us. We are ready to have some fun!
