This morning, our Executive Director Kim Minkel, Customer Service Manager Crystal Edwards, and Juetaun Drewitt from Juneteenth Festival, Inc. raised the Pan African Liberation Flag at NFTA headquarters.
Juneteenth is a federal holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved African Americans. Deriving its name from combining June and nineteenth, it is celebrated each year on June 19, the anniversary of the order, issued on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for slaves.
NFTA-Metro team members will be at the Juneteenth Parade and Festival this weekend, June 17-18. So, please stop by and help us celebrate.
