Congratulations to Metro Operator Rob Oehler for being selected as one of the elite 13 honorees for the 3^rd Annual American Red Cross Western New York Real Heroes Event presented by Calspan and Corporate Chairs, Carolyn and John Yurtchuck.

Rob was selected from a large pool of nominees for the Workplace Safety Award, presented to an employee whose actions exemplify the very highest of Western New York’s community standards. Last April, Oehler responded to a passenger experiencing a cardiac event on his bus, performing chest compressions until emergency medical personnel arrived. Oehler is credited with helping to save the passenger’s life.

This award ceremony was held on Thursday, October 21, at the Transit Drive-In in Lockport, NY.  Each Hero was provided with a special tribute shared on the big screen.
