After 36 years of dedicated service, Tom Carroll is retiring from the NFTA. Tom’s journey began in September 1989, when the organization operated just 40 standalone computers and had no network or internet connectivity. Over the years, Tom not only witnessed but also played a crucial role in driving significant technological transformation. With exceptional leadership and the support of a talented IT team, the NFTA expanded to support hundreds of computers and servers, connecting thousands of devices across an extensive network. The changes have been so profound that the very office where Tom first interviewed no longer exists.

As Tom approaches this new chapter, he reflects with deep appreciation on the many people and experiences that have profoundly influenced his career at the NFTA. He is especially thankful for his parents and four siblings, whose steadfast love and support were instrumental in shaping his character and strong work ethic. Tom is also grateful to his in-laws, who helped him stay close to the Kane family after the loss of his beloved wife, Marianne, in 2021. Cherishing the 15 years they shared, Tom credits Marianne for renewing his faith and introducing him to the joy and companionship of Golden Retrievers.

With a heart full of gratitude, Tom will step into retirement proud of the positive changes he helped bring to the NFTA and the many enduring relationships he forged throughout his distinguished career.

We hope you will join us on Friday, January 30, to help us honor Tom and celebrate this extraordinary milestone.
