  • The caller said: I just recently started working downtown, and most days, I take the #16 bus that leaves Washington Street (M-F) and head southbound to the McKinley Mall. Every day, the driver is friendly and greets all his riders with a smile and hello. Today, there was an incident on the bus between a few younger kids and another single rider. Things escalated quickly. I want to commend the driver for his professionalism and composure. He was able to de-escalate the situation until the Transit Authority arrived. As I exited the bus, he still gave his warm smile and his usual "Have a good day" even after the incident occurred. I am sorry I do not have the driver's name, but hopefully, the information I have provided will help you identify your employee. I just wanted to take a moment to commend your driver, and it's clear that his calmness seemed to have a ripple effect. Usually, I would have been a little rattled, but his calmness and ability to keep his bus under control allowed other riders to stay calm. So, a huge shout out and thank you to your driver."
  • The caller said, 'I'm a 75-year-old woman.' I took the #4 bus to Thruway Plaza today. This young lady is an exceptional driver. She made the turn off Broadway to Harlem without hitting the curb (there was a truck stopped at the red light waiting to turn onto Broadway). The #4 bus almost always hits the curb on the turn. The driver waited until I sat down before moving the bus. She did the same with other passengers. She is the poster person for NFTA. Please let her know I reported her as an asset to NFTA."
