If you see some of our Transit Authority Police Department officers looking a little less clean-shaven than usual, please don't worry! Many of our officers are participating in the Beards & Badges for Charity campaign, where the officers donate $50 to the fund and are allowed to grow facial hair. All of the money collected will go to help families in need through the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Organization within Western New York over the holiday season. There are 48 participants in this year's campaign, and our female officers are cheering them on.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the largest provider of youth mentoring services in the United States. Their mission is to create and support relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth and help change lives forever.
The Beards & Badges for Charity campaign will continue through December 31, 2019. If you want more information on how you can support this great cause, please contact Dave Zarbo in our TAPD MTC office.
